Carne Asada Tacos

Looking for a great way to utilise the high heat of a Heatlie hot plate? Cook a steak, then turn it into delicious Carne Asada Tacos. 

Ingredients

  • Ribeye Steak
  • Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lime freshly juiced
  • 1 orange freshly juiced
  • Freshly chopped coriander
  • Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Method

  1. Combine above ingredients to form marinade
  2. Marinade whole steak for several hours, the longer the better. 
  3. Pre-heat Heatlie to high and sear steaks for a few minutes either side. These are best kept to medium to retain the flavours and moisture of the marinade.  
  4. Assemble in tacos with toppings of your choice. We went with pico de gallo, cheese and gauc.
  5. Enjoy
