Pizzas
The Snappy King (and Roaster) are ideal for making great Pizzas.
2 x small (46x31cm) Pizza trays will fit in the Snappy King with a Double-up rack fitted, or one large tray (50 x 35 cm) and one small tray. One tray of either size will fit with out the double up rack. These trays are available from Heatlie.
Purchase pre made pizza dough from your local Italian deli, or make your own.
1kg pizza dough for each tray.
Suggested toppings:
Small tray:
Topping One:
Spread tomato sugo on base.
Add 5 large slices prosciutto (do not cut)
Break up 5 large bocconcini and sprinkle over.
Bake in Snappy King for 45 minutes or until brown.
Place torn basil over before serving.
Topping Two:
Finely slice washed, but not peeled, potato. Place over pizza in neat layer.
Sprinkle over olive oil and season with salt, and place in oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
Topping Three:
Meatlovers – Cut lamb fillet which has been marinated in spices and cooked on Heatlie BBQ for 2 minutes each side. Tear up 200g ham, 200g cooked chicken and 200g sliced salami. Top with grated mozzarella cheese and cook in Snappy King for 40 to 45 minutes.
For Large tray: Use same amount of dough, but spread over tray a little thinner. Add more to the above ingredients to cover the dough.
The dough will be quite thick once cooked. If ingredients are piled onto the pizza, it will turnout soggy. Experiment with 3 or 4 ingredients and let the flavours impress!
